Sophie joined HMI as the Semester 49 Math Apprentice before becoming Math Faculty in 2023. Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Sophie graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2021, where she studied Educational Studies, Environmental Earth Science, and Mathematics. After graduation, Sophie served an AmeriCorps VISTA term in Southwest Utah working on a long-term community development initiative before coming out to Colorado. In addition to exploring the canyons and mountains of the West, Sophie loves gaming, walking, listening to music, and a good documentary recommendation.
