Lucy is originally from Charlottesville, Virginia, and joined the HMI faculty in 2023. Before coming to HMI, Lucy gained her Master’s at the University of Virginia, where she instructed first-year writing courses about art and pop culture. Lucy has instructed wilderness programs in Utah, California, North Carolina, the Northeast, and abroad. When she isn’t grading papers under the supervision of her cat, Daisy, she can be found cooking, biking, writing, or reading on a good porch.
