Sam is new to the HMI community this summer. He was born and raised in St. Paul, MN, but he currently lives and studies in Colorado Springs, CO. Sam is going into his senior year at Colorado College pursuing Environmental Science and Education, which he seeks to bring together as much as possible in his work. Sam has a background in place-based outdoor education, as a student and a teacher, and is passionate about building connections to the natural world. When not in the classroom, Sam can often be found skiing, playing mandolin, or reading nonfiction.
