Sophie grew up in Santa Fe, NM, where she developed a love of the outdoors exploring the high desert. Before coming to HMI, Sophie has been exploring the field of outdoor education in Southwest Colorado, rafting on desert rivers and backpacking in the San Juan mountains. She studied at Wesleyan University, where she earned a degree in the Science in Society Program and managed a student-run farm. Outside of work, she loves playing ultimate frisbee, skiing and swimming in alpine lakes.
