Max Teirstein (he/any) graduated from Yale University in 2022 with a double-major in environmental studies and political science. Max could talk your ear off about the holistic blend of classes that Yale allowed him to take even as he double-majored, but he’d really like to tell you about his experience of Yale outside of academia. Like many Yalies, Max joined extracurriculars with reckless abandon, so in the course of his time there he worked on the Yale Farm, directed and acted in plays and musicals, tap-danced, backpacked, campaigned for fossil fuel divestment, and ran workshops and activities that educated the student body about consent and healthy sexual communication. But the thing Max misses about Yale is his folk band, Tangled Up in Blue (TUIB), which accepts new members every fall.
