Xan McKenna
Xan grew up in Boulder, Colorado and graduated from Williams College in 2024. In the past few years, she’s worked in nonprofit development and experiential education for arts institutions, public and private schools, and bilingual international programs. Xan has also taught STEM and worked on grants to study climate change and visual art. After living in Costa Rica, Spain, and Chile, she is passionate about environmental stewardship and cultural exchange in youth education. She spends her free time oil painting, teaching marimba, and camping around the Southwest.

Ray McGaughey
Ray joined HMI as a staff member in 2015 and hails from Brooklyn, NY. He is a proud alumnus of HMI Semester 15 (fall 2005). Ray served as the Director of Admissions & Financial Aid for eight years before transitioning into the role of Director of Development in 2023. His passtimes include volunteering on the board of the local nonprofit Full Circle of Lake County, trail running, and playing chess. He is based in Denver.
