Interested in organizing and hosting an HMI Day event?
HMI will help you advertise your event, provide you with a list of regional alumni, and reimburse up to $50-$100 of your event cost. If you have any questions about hosting, send us an email!
Celebrate HMI at events across the US!
Each year on October 2nd, we celebrate with regional alumni events across the country. We are seeking alumni to host events in your city on 10/1, 10/2, 10/3 or 10/4!
Why 10/2? 10,200 ft. = the elevation of Leadville!
We are currently planning events in the following locations:

- Boston
- Washington DC
- Burlington, VT
- Middlebury College
- Chicago
- Denver
- Boulder
- Colorado College
- Roaring Fork Valley
- LA
- San Francisco
- Seattle

HMI Alumni Trips
Itching to come back to Leadville? Return to HMI to participate in one of our upcoming Alumni Trips!
Thursday, March 4th – Sunday, March 7th, 2027
Nowhere does winter quite like Leadville. This four-day trip involves a day of skiing at Ski Cooper and a backcountry ski touring in the mountains around Leadville. Enjoy Leadville’s legendary Ski Joring competition, where skiers pulled by horses whip down Main Street to the cheers of thousands of spectators.

HMI Anniversary Reunions
Every five years, HMI hosts a large reunion on its campus open to all alumni, former staff members, apprentices, parents, and friends of the school. Our next reunion will celebrate our 30th anniversary in June 2028. Check out the video recap of our 25th Anniversary Reunion below!
