Closing out- F Rock!

HMI Rock

Wow, what a semester it’s been! We’re on our last night together, which feels surreal given that we’ve spent every night together since September (!!!!). We’ve held each other through some exhilarating, exhausting, intense, and hilarious days, and I feel so lucky to have been surrounded by passionate and loving students and instructors. We’ve experienced snow and rain, lightning and rainbows, and the challenge of being vulnerable and open to feedback. As student leaders, we have looked out for each others’ needs and opinions. As climbers, we have pulled hard and expanded technical abilities (shoutout to both the trad parents and sport lords). As friends, we have talked late into the night and spent lots of quality time chilling and additionally vibing with the homies. As students, we have engaged in complex discussions and presented our ideas to peers.

There’s no concise way to effectively wrap up such a formative period of time, so I’ll defer to our intrepid leader Luke Bazemore, who once said, “life is all about mungus”. All I would add is to move in the world with gentleness and care and love the people around you with wild and unabashed abandon. That’s what we’ve been up to this semester, and that’s what I hope to carry home as well.
