HMI Semester Update: Colorado extends school closures; March 19, 2020

March 19, 2020
A message for current families

Dear HMI Families,

I am writing with an update on our return to campus. Last night (during our parent meeting), Colorado Governor Jared Polis issued a new directive, prohibiting in-person instruction for all Colorado public and independent schools through April 17; our approach will continue to be to follow the direction of public health officials. This means HMI will need to extend online learning through the week after spring break, While we are hopeful that students can return on April 19, this situation continues to be fluid, so please do not confirm new plane reservations quite yet. Our hope is that we will be able to provide families about two weeks notice of a potential return or extension of on-line learning, but circumstances will obviously dictate whether this is possible.

Thank you for joining us last night as well for our parent meeting. I hope you found it productive and helpful. Below is the full invitation to our next parent meeting on Wednesday, March 25 at 6:00pm mountain time. We will send out an agenda before the call, but expect it to last 45 minutes.

Many thanks for your continued support of our students. This situation continues to be so different than what we expected for Semester 44, but know we are working incredibly hard to offer Semester 44 an important, relevant, and unique experience that I know the world needs more today than ever.

Many thanks,

Danny
