Miles Turner

Gap Faculty

Miles went to The Mountain School in Vermont for a semester when he was 17 years old. This was a very formative experience and started his journey in experiential education. After four years at Wesleyan University studying Music and Earth and Environmental Science, Miles realized his love and passion for outdoor education as an apprentice at HMI in Semester 21. Since then, Miles has led hiking, canyoneering, sailing, skiing, sea kayaking, and canoeing expeditions with NOLS, HMI, and Outward Bound. Outside of work, Miles enjoys studying Spanish, whitewater sports, ocean sports, and mountain sports. When the wind is quiet enough, Miles will sometimes break out a harmonica and play a tune for all to hear. Fun fact: his favorite weather is light rain. Lucky for him, he gets to work a full semester in Patagonia with Gap where his favorite weather will be commonplace!
